Upcoming Events...Giving Bucket – Last Sunday! – The green buckets in the hallway between the sanctuary and fellowship hall are receiving donations for the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter. This will again be a contest between Dog Lover and Cat Lovers. To support your canine cronies, fill the dog bucket. To support your feline friends, fill the cat bucket. Items requested: Towels (new or used), Bleach, Laundry soap, Hand sanitizer, Hand soap, Kitty litter, Dog, Puppy and Cat food (dry or canned) September 9th - Charge Conference – The annual business meeting of the church will occur September 9th at 6:30PM in the fellowship hall. The Charge Conference is a meeting of the Administrative Council along with the District Superintendent and the voting members; however, anyone is invited to attend this open meeting. September 18th - Lord’s Acre – Our annual fall festival with a giant turkey dinner, live and silent auction, baked good, crafts and kids fun. September 23rd - Financial Peace University – Brock UMC will offer this Christian Financial Class by Dave Ramsey in the fall. Scott Drillette and Pastor Alan will facilitate the class on Thursday evenings beginning on September 23rd, 6PM to 8PM. FPU is a 13 week course focusing on “acting your wage” and eliminating debt. This is a powerful class that has changed many lives. We hope you will consider joining us. Announcements...MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC – Are you musical or your friends say you are musical? In the coming months, we will begin an adult choir, handbells, kids choir and invite people to provide special music with their voice or other instrument. So don’t be shy, email Christina Sherman and let her know who you are!!! The Cook Books are in!!!! So if you ordered a cook book please either stop by the office Monday – Thursday from noon to 3:30 and pick them up or you can see Cindy Jordan on Sunday. All checks should be made payable to Brock UMW. If you didn’t order a cook book not to fear, it’s not too late you can still get one. Just see Cindy or Jean. Art Show? – Let’s have an art show for Brock! A couple of weeks in the fall with art and photography from kids, youth and adults – giving them a chance for others to share their gifts and joy. Maybe an actual show with refreshments and an artist presenter (classical music in the background of course). Something new for the community to support the arts. Simple and not a fundraiser. Wanna help? Recycling? We have lots of new ways to fundraise for various causes within the church and for the community by doing what you already do.........Recycle!! The United Methodist Women are collecting the pop-tops from drink cans for the Ronald McDonald House, and BoxTop for Education and Campbell's Soup Labels for the Brock Elementary School. Collection sites can be found in the Brock Fellowship Hall. April 25th Review...On April 25, we took special time in our worship services to present testimonies and share future steps for our church. Please take some time to review these videos/documents to get a closer look at how God is moving through Brock UMC.
