April 25 Review...

On April 25, we took special time in our worship services to present testimonies and share future steps for our church.  Please take some time to review these videos/documents to get a closer look at how God is moving through Brock UMC.

Upcoming Events...

The Cook Books are in!!!! So if you ordered a cook book please either stop by the office Monday – Thursday from noon to 3:30 and pick them up or you can see Cindy Jordan on Sunday. All checks should be made payable to Brock UMW. If you didn’t order a cook book not to fear, it’s not too late you can still get one. Just see Cindy or Jean.

July 24, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Canning in the Church Kitchen - Lainie Ereno will be hosting a day of canning and camaraderie in the church kitchen 7/24 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  This is for anyone interested in learning about canning, willing to share their expertise, or just wants to have fun.  If you have any, bring your produce to be canned or frozen, canning jars, propane turkey fryer cookers and canning gear to the church on Friday 7/23 by 6:00 PM so we can assess what we have and what we need to buy.  If you don’t have any of this, don’t worry – we would still love to have your help.  On Saturday, bring money for lunch.  We are working on hiring babysitters for kids (parents would chip in on cost).  We will donate a portion of what we make to the church for Lord’s Acre, and the rest will be divided among everyone who helps.  As of now we plan to make peach salsa, peach jam, wild grape jelly and tomato salsa.  Please let Lainie know if you are interested so she can get your contact information (817-594-6947).  If you are bringing produce to be canned or frozen, please let Lainie know as soon as possible so we can plan recipes.

August 8 - 12, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Vacation Bible School - Galactic Blast, Rocketing through the Bible!!  This is going to be a great time of learning and fun. So if you know a child 3 years to 5th grade let’s get them signed up. If you have a youth that would like to help have them get with Trisha and signed up for that. You can never start to young in your walk with the Lord.

Announcements...

Mission Work - Everyone.  The church has several mission tasks over the summer, including a youth group mission trip to Oklahoma in June and an adult mission trip to Arkansas in July. If you're interested in joining, being a part of, or just praying for those going on the missions please see anyone in the church office.

Art Show? – Let’s have an art show for Brock!  A couple of weeks in the fall with art and photography from kids, youth and adults – giving them a chance for others to share their gifts and joy.  Maybe an actual show with refreshments and an artist presenter (classical music in the background of course).  Something new for the community to support the arts.  Simple and not a fundraiser.  Wanna help?

The Chili and BBQ Cook-Off was a HUGE success!  Everyone worked hard and had a great time.  The food was great and the fundraising will go a long ways for the ministries of the church.  Thanks so much to all those who set up and took down, cooked, donated food and ALL the folks it took to bring such a great event to Brock. It looks like this could be an annual event!

Recycling? We have lots of new ways to fundraise for various causes within the church and for the community by doing what you already do.........Recycle!! The United Methodist Women are collecting the pop-tops from drink cans for the Ronald McDonald House, and BoxTop for Education and Campbell's Soup Labels for the Brock Elementary School. Collection sites can be found in the Brock Fellowship Hall.
