Meet Our Pastor, Pastor Family and Staff

Rev. Alan McGrath

Pastor Alan McGrath was called to serve Brock UMC in 2007. His wife, Traci, and he are the proud parents of little Ryan Pax and Beckett Lux born in January 2010. Alan and Traci love music and camping in tents. They met in college at the Texas A&M Wesley Foundation where he was a choir director and she was his faithful piano player. Both Alan and Traci have a love for Glen Lake Camp where they have both worked and were married in February of 2001.

Alan, Traci, Ryan Pax and Beckett Lux have two dogs, Reagan and Reggie. They love squirrels and walking with their parents in the neighborhood.

Alan has served previously at Acton UMC in Granbury working with young families and outreach. Before that, he was the worship leader and youth director for a church start-up in Mansfield called Community of Hope UMC. He has been in love with the Methodist church his whole life since growing up at New World UMC in Arlington. Alan finished his undergraduate work at Texas A&M and received a Master of Divinity from Brite Seminary at TCU.

Director of Student Ministries - Trisha McAda

Trish McAda joined our staff in June of 2008 as Director of Student Ministries. This position aims to build and maintain a ministry for children and youth that encourages them to become disciples of Jesus Christ. Trisha has her bachelor’s in Multidisciplinary Studies from TexasTech University. She taught for nine years in the public school system at various grade levels and school districts before joining the church staff. She is also employed by MAC Built, Inc. as office manager and design assistant. She is married to Ben McAda, and they have two children Ashtyn and Kaley. Ben has his bachelor's degree in construction engineering and owns a construction company, MAC Built, Inc. Together they design and build custom new homes, home remodels, and also commercial construction. They enjoy working side by side as Youth Directors at Brock UMC and building their construction business.

Trisha and Ben have been in the Brock community since 2000, and enjoy watching their young girls play basketball, softball, dance and competitive cheerleading. They love to travel when given the opportunity, and they play various sports during their leisure time. Director of Music - Christina Sherman

Christina Sherman joined Brock UMC in August of 2010 as Director of Music. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education (K-12) from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Music in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Christina previously sung as a scholarship singer at FUMC Monroe while working on her bachelor’s degree, and served FUMC Plano as the Summer Student Ministry Intern during the summer of 2010.

Christina was active in several choirs at ULM, and also participated in many operas and musicals. She is now a lifetime member of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity, a professional music organization. In her free time, Christina enjoys running, trying new foods, exploring new places (including the DFW area!), and reading.
