Adult Ministries

We currently have many ways for adults to become involved in the Brock United Methodist Church, ranging from Adult Sunday School classes to Missionary work in the community.  See the list below for just some of the ongoing activities for adults.  In addition, the Methodist Church is organized of many committees, all designed to assist in the church administration and ongoing ministries. Brock United Methodist Church is a part of the Central Texas Conference of Methodist Churches, and the committee structure is based on the recommendations of the larger Methodist organization. If you are interested in participating on a committee for the Church, please see Pastor Alan for more details.

Sunday School

Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM

We offer several different co-ed class choices, each with its own style of teaching, leadership, and curriculum. If you're interested in participating in an Adult Sunday School class, please ask around! The Church staff and adult members are happy to point you in the right direction for additional information.  We want you to feel comfortable and at-home with a style of teaching that promotes the best learning for you!

Women's Bible Study

Monday evenings at 6:30 PM

The women's bible study group meets each Monday in the BUMC fellowship hall.  It's an open forum designed to promote great discussions on various issues of particular concern to women. The group chooses a topic of interest based on a book by a contemporary Christian author or a bible study that focuses on one book of the bible, and digs deep into the topic.  The setting is casual and the group always has room for more people and opinions.

Day Care is provided.

Recent Studies:  The book of Daniel - by Beth Moore,  The Frazzled Female,  The Advent Conspiracy,  Fearless - by Max Lucado

Men's Bible Study

Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM

The men's bible study group is currently taking a break between topics.  But don't worry.....it will resume very soon!

United Methodist Women (UMW)

Fourth Monday of every month at 7:30 PM

The mission of United Methodist Women's Group  is to provide an outreach to the community for any needs that are seen. UMW is currently working on programs for the Center of Hope in Parker County, a backpack program for low-income families in the Brock School District, and various recycling programs to benefit the elementary school and other charities.  And of course UMW also meets throughout the year for fellowship and just plain fun!

United Methodist Men (UMM)

The United Methodist Men's Group meets once a month on Saturday mornings along with the Brock Baptist Men's Group. The location rotates between the two churches, with the host church men's group cooking and serving breakfast.  The UMM also meets during the year for volunteer work at the church and throughout the community.  And of course....for fellowship and fun!
